White-tailed Deer Program
Shiloh National Military Park will host a special natural history program on white-tailed deer, Superintendent Woody Harrell announced today. This one-hour program will discuss the seasonal life cycle and behavior of one of the most commonly observed animals on the continent. The program will start at the Shiloh Visitor Center with a short introduction on deer ecology, and will continue outdoors as participants take a caravan drive around the park to observe deer inhabiting the battlefield. This program is scheduled for Thursday evening, September 23rd at 6 p.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of the presentation. Participants are also encouraged to bring binoculars and cameras, and will need to dress according to weather conditions. Those interested in participating will need to contact the Shiloh Battlefield Visitor Center at (731) 689-5696 or email Park Ranger Marcus Johnson at
