Fasten your seatbelts and zoom on down to
Pickwick Landing State Resort Park, host of the 2nd
Annual Pickwick Challenge “Racin' on the River,” May
5-7, 2006.
The Offshore Super Series will once again be
bringing the world's largest, fastest and loudest
powerboats for the “Greatest Show on Water,”
presented by Packaging Corporation of America, to
Pickwick Lake for a weekend of fast, exciting family
fun!
Come get fired up at the “Pre-Race Warm-Up Party”
and a pick out your favorite team at the “Meet the
Racers Party” held at Freddy T's Restaurant & Beach
Club.
This year's festival will feature live
entertainment, amusement rides, an arts & crafts
fair and concessions vendors. The Race Village and
Pit Areas will also be open to the public.
Several charity events will be held to benefit
local organizations during the event such as: a 5K
Run to benefit the Hardin Medical Foundation, an
Exotic Car & Motorcycle Show to benefit the Friends
of the Park program, and a Boat Fun Run to benefit
the Boys and Girls Club.
"This year's event promises to be bigger and
better than ever with events within the race venue
for all ages with a family-festival atmosphere. The
Pickwick Challenge staff is very excited about the
opportunity to bring a show of this magnitude back
to our county and to provide another avenue to
showcase our beautiful area to visitors from all
over the world,” said Race Director, Tanya Irwin.
The Pickwick Challenge is now accepting vendor
applications and sponsorships are still available.
All Access Passes as well as Daily Passes will be
available for purchase on line and at other ticket
outlets throughout the area.
