TENNESSEE VALLEY BEWARE:
THERE’S A DISTANT ROAR IN THE AIR!
PICKWICK, USA, Hardin County, TN ~
Reports have been steady
over the
past 24 hours of a distant roar throughout the
Tenn essee Valley. The roar has been carefully researched and the mystery
culprit identified as the
2008 Pickwick Challenge Powerboat Race & Festival!
Fans from around
the country are advised to mark their calendars for
May 2-4 to insure a full
weekend of great family entertainment—side effects
include, but are not
limited to: high levels of excitement,
uncontrollable laughter, loud noise,
record breaking speeds, monstrous appetites with
cravings for corndogs,
cotton candy and funnel cakes, sudden needs for
cameras and additional
photo albums to store excessive memories made during
the event.
Therefore, all ages who love and seek high speed
racing action, love great
food, love to shop, love hot rods, antique cars and
motorcycles, love the
mid-way rides and games and love to smile and say
WOW (often) are
encouraged to attend this adventure commonly known
as The Pickwick
Challenge!
The 4th Annual 2008 Pickwick Challenge Powerboat
Race & Festival will be
held May 2-4 at the Gold Medal Award Winning State
Park of the Year,
beautiful Pickwick Landing State Resort Park. This
year’s event will feature
the Champ Boat Grand Prix Series with two days of
high speed race action
with the Formula I and Formula III Champ Boats
competing for the coveted
title of the Pickwick Challenge. The Pickwick
Challenge Organizing
Committee carefully researched and took very
seriously the input from its
fan base and was determined to bring to town the
race circuit who could
produce the best show for the fans and that showed
the greatest potential
to increase the number of visitors who are attracted
to the area and to the
great State of Tennessee. “I am so very excited
about the ability our area
and its people had to attract the Champ Boat Grand
Prix Series to be a part
of the Pickwick Challenge event. Our goal is to
produce the best show ever
and to contract with an organization that promises
improvement from one
year to another with a track record and repu tation
to back it up. With these
two necessities comes success thus producing an
increase in tourism for
our area and surrounding states, which makes us all
winners,” states
Tanya Irwin, Race and Event Director. “We believe we
have found this
winning combination with the Champ Boat Grand Prix
Series and plan to
roll out the red carpet for them, Hardin County
style” she adds.
The Champ Boat Grand Prix Series has been featured
in many powerboat
magazines, and as the fans state it, “they are
hottest thing in racing”.
Champ Boats will bring extensive national media
opportunities that will
showcase beautiful Hardin County, Tennessee,
Mississippi and Alabama.
The signing of the contract with this race circuit
provides a 30-minute
television show featuring the 2008 Pickwick
Challenge Powerboat Race &
Festival on SPEED Channel along with numerous
national magazine and
newspaper coverage opportunities.
This year’s festival will feature an Arts & Craft
Fair, a Car & Motorcycle
Show, a 5K Run, a Boat Fun Run, live entertainment,
